Valedictorian and Salutatorian

Olivia Genson, daughter of Trish and Kevin Genson, will graduate from Moravia Central School as the Valedictorian of the Class of 2025. She will graduate with a weighted GPA of 98.86 and earn an Advanced Regents Diploma with Honors and a Science Distinction. In the fall, she will attend the University of Rochester, having also earned a scholarship through the NROTC Marine Corps Option Program. She plans to study biology or biomedical engineering in college and then pursue a career in the military or as a government employee. While at Moravia, Genson has been a three-sport varsity athlete, participating in cross-country, basketball and track and field. She was named a NYSPHSAA Scholar Athlete numerous times. One of Olivia’s proudest accomplishments was helping her basketball team to their first Class C State Championship in 2024. In consecutive years, Olivia was chosen as Moravia’s Female Athlete of the Year, the first time in school history. She was chosen to attend both the Naval Academy Summer Seminar and the ALA Empire Girls State. Additionally, Olivia has been a member of the Student Advisory Council, Student Athletic Advisory Council, Student Government and president of the National Honor Society.
Nicholas Plue, son of Mr. and Mrs. Brian Plue, will graduate from Moravia Central School District as the Salutatorian of the Class of 2025. He will graduate with a weighted GPA of 97.58 and earn an Advanced Regents Diploma with Honors and Math and Science Distinctions. In the fall, he will attend the University of Buffalo and major in mechanical engineering. While at Moravia, Plue has participated in football, track, wrestling, soccer and baseball. He is a member of the National Honor Society and serves as the senior class co-treasurer. His fondest memory was qualifying for states his junior year of wrestling, which no one from the school has done before.
