New Software Request Process

New Software Request Process

Compliance with Ed Law 2-d for a secure and streamlined workflow.

Why We Have This Process

To ensure compliance with **Ed Law 2-d (Data Privacy and Security)** and to streamline all software requests, we have a formal process. This workflow ensures that all new software is reviewed for student data privacy, instructional support, and budgetary feasibility before being introduced into our classrooms.

The Software Request Flow

Step 1

Submit to Your Principal and Director of Curriculum

All requests for new software must first be submitted to your building principal, who will then forward the request to the Director of Curriculum for initial review and educational support assessment.

Step 2

Submit a Helpdesk Ticket (If Approved)

Once your building principal and the Director of Curriculum have approved your request, please submit a new ticket to our IT Helpdesk. This initiates the formal review process.

Step 3

Director of Technology Review

The Director of Technology will review the requested software for data compliance and security. This is a critical step to ensure that the software adheres to state and federal data privacy laws, including Ed Law 2-d.

Step 4

Final Review & Budgeting

If the software is approved by the Director of Technology, it will be reviewed by the Business Office for purchase. The ordering process will then begin, or it will be budgeted for the next fiscal year.
